Self proclaimed Hero And A Villain; 23 year old Ruinz Ason from New Cross, South London, first appeared in 2004 as part of rap duo QuietStorm. Unlike most rappers Ruinz didn’t start off battling or just writing 16 bars, but instead was writing and producing full-length songs at the age of 11. Around the same time he learnt to play keyboard, drums and guitar. Ruinz has been performing since he was 15, and has supported acts such as Nathan and Ms Dynamite to Sony signed Indie artist Julian Perretta and upcoming Singer/ Guitarist William Echo. Ruinz describes his music as ‘Balanced Bi-Polar outbursts’ and when asked who his influences are, he calls up names as diverse as Common, Nas, Wu-tang, and Outkast to Prince, Lauryn Hill, Cold Play and Van Hunt. His music has a distinctive influence from 70’s and 90’s soul and electro Music.
